I study and create historical fashions as a way to connect to the dressmakers that came before me, as well as to help educate others about the historical fashions, lives, and society of the people.  I particularly focus on Black women and women of color who existed in the various time periods that I dress in.  My goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive community of creatives, hobbyists, educators, and spectators to learn, grow as artists, share knowledge and experiences through historically inspired events and outings.

Costumers of Color, Inc. (CoCo) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts & humanities organization that expands access, representation, and belonging for people of color in historical costuming and public history by creating scholarships, educational events, and cultural heritage travel that welcome participants of all racial and cultural backgrounds.

Our vision is for welcoming and safe multicultural spaces in historical costuming and living history. The community we are building benefits from valuing individuals with varied perspectives and experiences. Together, we highlight and celebrate the contributions of communities of color to the historical record.
